Crater Lake, Oregon Map Blanket

$150
Materials: Cotton
  • A 100% cotton woven throw blanket for your couch, picnic, firepit or pet bed. Also looks great as a wall tapestry if you punch grommets into the edges.
  • Made to order in North Carolina, at your door within 5 business days.
  • Care instructions: wash in cold water, tumble dry low or line dry.
  • Tau Rho Alpha (for real, his daughter’s named Theta) illustrated beautiful physiographic maps for the U.S. Geological Survey until 2000, when they asked him to use a computer, and he retired. Alpha drew this south-up view to compare Crater Lake to the crater formed by Mt. St. Helens, which he considered pisher stuff. “As spectacular and devastating as the 1980 eruption of Mount St. Helens was, it was a minor event compared to the cataclysmic destruction of Mount Mazama.” That destruction scattered 290 trillion pounds of rock and left a five-mile-wide caldera, which filled with water and formed the deepest lake in the United States.
